Patrick Mathurin was born on the 20th of September 1972 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. At the age of 3 he and his mother moved to Amsterdam.
He discovered his talent for acting through an extra role in the Opera “Pelleas et Melisande” directed by Peter Sellars.

In 1999 he graduated from the school of higher education of the arts in Arnhem
as the winner of the “De Roos-Gesinkprijs 1999”; the price for the most talented student of the HKA with making and performing Socrates’ Apology. In 2001 he was the proud recipient of “the Fellowship named in the honor of the Ambassador Joris M.Vos, NAF/Fullbright”. With this and other scholarships he mastered in the United States.

In 2000 he first followed masterclasses at the Actorscenter and auditioned and observed at the Actorsstudio in New York. He also followed Anne Bogart and her S.I.T.I company’s summercourse. Between 2001 and 2003 he studied at the Actorscenter in New York.

As a Preparation for his next solo “the Greatest Of All Times” Patrick transformed himself in a boxer and became a novice National champion in 2004 and eventually became third at the New York Daily News Golden Gloves boxing tournament in 2007.

And now he’s back.
